A PLE is a Personal Learning Environment!!! Technically, a PLE represents the integration of a number of Web 2 technologies like blogs, wikis, Symbaloo, Twitter and Facebook etc, around the independent learner.
A PLE can be described as a personal learning centre, where content is reused and remixed according to the student's own needs and interests. It is therefore not a single application or system, but a collection of interoperating applications—an environment rather than a system.
A PLE puts the individual learner at the centre, connecting him or her to both information and to communities that provide personal spaces that are controlled by the user – and which also provide a social context that enrich effective knowledge sharing and creation. (ref: Wikipedia)
